Collection: Body Oil for Men

Body oil aimed at men is usually the same formula in a darker bottle. These three are not that — they are built on sea buckthorn seed oil and jojoba, and the men's one carries real sandalwood rather than a fragrance imitating it.

Why men end up needing it

Two habits do most of the damage. Shaving takes the top layer of skin along with the hair, several times a week. And body wash aimed at men leans on surfactants that clean hard, which helps after the gym and costs something afterwards. Skin that feels tight twenty minutes out of the shower is skin that has lost water it had, not skin that never had any.

An oil answers that specific problem, because it has no water of its own to lose. On skin still damp, it helps hold on to what the shower left behind.

The three

  • Body Oil for Men — Dead Sea Minerals & Sandalwood. Jojoba, sea buckthorn seed oil, Dead Sea minerals and Santalum Album. Sandalwood is one of the most expensive essential oils in the world and it is in the ingredient list, not in the marketing.
  • Sea Buckthorn Seed Body Oil with Vitamin C. For skin that reads dull rather than dry — forearms, shins, anywhere sun has been.
  • Collagen Body Oil with Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil. The heaviest of the three, for winter and for skin that feels tight most days.

How to use it without the slippery part

The complaint about body oil is almost always application, not the oil. Three or four pumps on skin still wet from the shower, spread while the water is still there, then a towel. The water does the spreading, so a little goes further and nothing is left sitting on the surface. On dry skin the same amount has nowhere to go and stays greasy.

The long version is in our guide to body oil for men, and the comparison with lotion is here.
